“Someday, I will be proud of myself”

My name's Elena, but it's alright to address me any name that suits you. I'm a Registered Nurse in the Philippines and in the United States of America. Currently waiting for a miracle so I can finally work in the west. Being a couch potato and drowning myself in books are some of my likes while anything-pork and futile people are my dislikes.

Oh hi. Today went unexpectedly better than planned. :) I thought I was gonna pass out! I arrived at school like 5:30 the "call time", and they arrived like what, 6? /:) Care to leave your house earlier? Man, follow your rules! HAHA! Okay not the point. It was surprisingly near, so we just went to Jbee to have breakfast & wait til 7am. So yeah, we went back to the Rosario Reyes Health Center. Our CI, who was remarkably kind and patient enough, oriented us on how it works there. We admit the patients, especially the babies, for check up and all that! That's the only goal. It's like, the major priority in that health center. Anyway, after the short orientation, our CI assigned us our duties. We were We were 10 - 2 @ the admission, 2 for getting the BP of the oldies, 2 for the BP monitoring, and the last 4 people, where I was included, for giving immunization to babies (i.e. Hepa B vaccine, BCG vaccine, etc.). But the 4 of us were instructed to just help in the admission while the doctor isn't around yet. So yeah, I was pretty good! Not bragging! :)) Hahahaha! 30 minutes later, we were to give the immunizations already. The 4 of us gave alternating injections. I injected 3 babies. The first baby, I gave an OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine) then the DPT (Diptheria Pertussis Tetanus). I did the same to the second & 3rd baby. :) It was heart-breaking, that you hurt the baby. But then I noticed that, they only cry while the needle is inside, but once the cotton is taped on the site of injection, they look calm already. I hope I did a good job there! It's coz our CI told us that there were times that the mother goes back to the health center & complains about swelling of the injection site and all that.

Oh, I forgot to mention how exceptionally happy being in the admission area! Although the only downside is you have to find the client's family #! It would be better if the envelopes were properly arranged, but it was the sole problem there! They were around! HAHA. But it was okay! :"> I really thought I was gonna suck in this duty! :))

We finished earlier, actually right around the time hit 12noon, we were actually doing nothing anymore. Bumming. :)) Lunch again @ Jbee. :)) There was a Mcdonalds near there, but it's a long walk, across Taft ave pa. HAHA. Tomorrow, as our CI told us, will be a very tiring day. If we got tired today, tomorrow will beat that! Ohk did that just make sense? :)) Uh wtv! Tomorrow we are scheduled for prenatal care of the preggers! But our CI asked us if we wanted to volunteer to giving health teachings! 2 of my classmates volunteered for proper Breast Feeding and all that. My friend Donna & I volunteered for Immunization! What was I thinking? But I guess it's just easy, you'll just have to explain why we have to give such vaccines! HEHE. I guess. Hoping! :)

Waiting for my mom to come home! I asked her to buy me cartolinas and pentle pen :) My eyes are going down. HAHA :|
